rear glass wont stay closed

I have a2002 sport hardtop. top is so air tight the rear glass pops open when i shut the doors and run the air cond. tried adjusting glass down and put a small trim strip on the tailgate hopeing it would keep the glass tighter agaist the tailgate but no luck. anyone made any mods to correct this problem, or is there something made to go on the gate for this. my top is not original but it had a hardtop befor cause the wiring for the wiper and rear defrost plug doesn't match up.

My rear glass doesn't shut air tight also you can see a very small gap were air escapes, I found out after washing it and seeing the inside in the back was wet lol.

Just make sure you spray downward when washing it lol.

I think the best way to fix this would be to trade your hardtop for my soft top. LOL

Sounds like you have a hard top for 03-06. Does your top have vents on the side towards the back. Between the side and back glass? If it does you have a 97-02 top

Does the top have a pressure relief valve. I had a Smittybilt top that I believe had one above the rear window. Can't really remember as ditching the hardtop was the first thing I did last year when I got the Jeep.

- get soft top rear window bar retainers.

- know where your vent is (97-02 were in the top, 03-06 were in the tailgate). if no vent, crack the window.

You could try loosening the hardtop and sliding it back a little bit to get a better seal.

I do like the hardtop. Its a breeze to take off .I use ropes and D-rings in the garage. lift it and drive out. Back in and let it down to put back on. can still park wifes xterra or the jeep in the garage. When the top is off no doors and do safari top either all open air for us to enjoy.
