Rear seat question

I notice on a few websites that for a few hundred bucks, you can replace your rear seat with a seat that not only folds down, but rotates up against your front seats. This way it gives you alot more room for cargo without having to remove the seat. However, you end up with a non matching seat.

Does anyone make a simple seat bracket that you can bolt on that does this without having to get a new seat? Seems like that would be easier. Would anyone else find this useful? My Expedition does this already.

Got a link? Hadn't seen this idea-would like to see a pic---IG is gonna hate me has 'nuff work already---- but maybe she would make a cover for it to match new covers for the front?

I know my factory rear seat folds and tumbles forward against the front seats. Not sure which year they implemented it though. I have an 04. On mine there is a bar that you push on that releases the rear latches and lets it roll forward.

Here is a link to one

Smittybilt Rear Jeep Fold & Tumble Seat Denim Seats at Morris 4x4 Center

I was thinking that someone would make a bracket do to this with the existing seat. Pretty sure mine does not rotate. Its a 1999.

Drivers side on the back of the seat is a latch, fold the seat down and lift it up and it should rotate up against the back of the front seats. You can then slide it to the side to pop it out of the brackets for complete removal.

All years fold and tumble. I know the 97-02 rear seat and floor brackets are different than the 03-06 but I recently did have a problem where the floor mechanism did not release and was stuck. The 03-06 is two steps. Pull the handle and the back folds. The floor does not release until the back is folded flat.

I think the seat needs to fold as well as tumble. If it just flipped forward, it would be an upside down L sticking way up. But these seats, the back collapses against the front, and then it all folds.

Oh, and we sell them too. If, you know, you want a good one

Theres not an easy way to remove it? 0.o
I was planning on taking mine out at lunch tomorrow to make room for Cargo related things; since anyone rarely rides back there anyways hehe.

I took mine out super easy you just have to play with it, or undo the bolts holding one of the brackets on, either way it's easy enough to get out.

Just fold and tumble it, then slide it all the way to one side (I think passenger, not absolutely sure) then pull the other end out. From the factory, one side has a clip on it to take off, but most leave them off after the first time taking the seat out....they are really not needed.

To the OP, I think all the factory seats are fold and tumble.

If it is the same design as my 04:
Fold the seat forward with the latch on the seat back.
Squeeze the bars together on the bottom rear of the bench seat. That will unlock the latch from the mounts on your Jeep tub.
You should then be able to slide the whole bench seat back, out of the mounts, then remove it.
