rear tail lights stay on

so i have cleaned my battery cables.(Ground)
i have pumped and pulled up on my brake pedal no change.
I have turned the ignition on and off several times.
i have turned the engine on and off a few times.
i have disconnected and reconnected the battery terminal several times in row.

but the rear tail lights stay on.

Last time they did this i disconnected the battery cables went to bed, got up reconnected the battery and they worked fine until now.... 3 weeks later.....

Any ideas

and nothing gets them to

If it is your stop lights it almost has to be the brake light switch is stuck closed. Take the wire off going to the brake lights and it the light goes off that is what it is. You haven't done any rewiring, bulb replacement have you?

Agreed try the brake switch, more than likely that is the issue.

like above, is your brake light on? if so, it's probably the brake light switch.
