Rear Tailgate Question

Should my interior lights come on when I open the rear tailgate & glass. Mine do not.

Check the contact wire that leads up the switch on the body not the gate. The wire going to that one on mine was shorted out.

There is no interior light switch in the rear.

It's not a hand switch but a contact switch.

The wire that attaches to the contact switch is the one I had problems with. I'm pointing to it in the picture.

That's for the CHMSL not an inside light.

I take back what I said that switch is not factory that's probably for an alarm. Switch I meant is on the other side of the gate.
