Rear tire Carrier

So I finally convinced my gf to buy me a tire carrier for my b-day... (After I told her i'd buy her a i-phone for hers). She knows she's gonna spend around $400. Just wondering which ones you guys run and how you like them. I need something that can hold a 33" tire and some other stuff like gas cans and sh*t. Post some pics if ya got'em Thanks!

I have the Jeeperman and love it but you cant get it anymore. The Rockhard is an almost iddentical twin to it. If I had to get another rear swing away tomorrow it would be the Rockhard.
Mine

The RockHard with all its extra stuff mounted.

thats her in there, this pic was taken this mourning but i know what you mean.

anyhow what front bumper do you have? I'd assume you'd like something to match the front. If you have stock, what front are you planning on getting?

there are a ton of plans out there to make home made bumpers/tire carriers if you can weld or know someone who can that would be your cheapest route I'm getting mine made as we speak it will end up looking very similar to the rockhard but only running me a grand total of about $170.

This one is the one that goes with my bumper from the pic above

http://www.quadratec.com/products/12052_40X_PG.htm

here is a cheaper one.. 300 bucks

http://www.quadratec.com/products/12202_32.htm

on a side note MAKE SURE the tire carrier comes with a bumper as many do not.

another one..

I just installed a ORF carrier last weekend. Paid $470 shipped from e-bay. Here's another one: OR-FAB-SWING-AWAY-TIRE-CAN-CARRIER-FOR-97-06-TJ

It took me all day to install it but I really like it! It's the same on Jerry Bransford runs. I plan on replacing one of the cans with a storage box and adding a light to it. I'm also in the process of fabracating a bracket for the license plate and 3rd stop light that will mount in the center of the tire.

Here's som pics:

You can spend the money one time or buy several cheapies and replace them because they wore out and rattle all the time. The choice is yours, many times its cheaper to just do it right the first time.

.....yet.

Like Scoob says, cheaper to do it right the first time. The OR Fab is the first one I've seen that does not rattle. I'm sure you can find a high end one that doesn't rattle too much, but you'll pay a bunch for it.

The OR Fab doesn't mount to the body. It mounts thru the body to heavy duty plates that mount to the roll bar brackets. It was quite a bit of work to install the thing and I'm betting that it is every bit as strong as the single pivot, bumper mount ones, if not more.

Someday, it's a big country..... I'd hate to have my spare fall off on the highway while I was driving to a great wheelin' spot!

I hear no difference as i asked the same question. I dont know about RRC but my SRC came with D ring holes.

In my instructions it talks about the D rings that i never received. When i emailed the place i got my bumper from about them, at first they were like i dont see any dring mounts.. then i showed them what i got (pic) and they never responded.

RRC seems to be a bit more expensive.
