This will be my next purchase, great looking rear bumper with the tire carrier IMO.

i wouldn't recommend the rrc one. i had it on my cj7 and it was very unstable and noisy.

yeah that bumper is the same one i have now minus the tire carrier it seems to take away ground clearence on the bottom, it goes past the fuel tank which i really dont like. i guess its good if you get rear ended or something

I run that bumper / tire carrier on my TJ and love it. I have beat the crap out of it and it has protected the gas tank because of the way it is designed.

I am very happy with it.

Check out the Off-Road Fabricators tire carrier which doesn't use or even attach to the bumper so you can keep your present bumper if you like. Instead of depending on the bumper for support, the ORF carrier supports everything via hidden internal brackets that bolt to the rear rollbar bases. You're not going to get a stronger mounting point than the rollbar bases. Mine is about 7 years old now and even though it has been carrying two full jerry cans (optionally) and a 35" spare tire that entire time, it is still sag-free and rattle-free. I've yet to see a bumper mounted spare tire carrier I liked as well as the very creative design ORF came up with. I think there might be a pic or two on my website (link below) that show mine.

O-R FAB, off road fabrications

You must have seen the MSRP on the website but if you shop around, they're available for under $500. Someone showed me a link a few weeks ago on a 4x4 dealer website where it was $470 or so.

x2 on the ORF. I bought mine based on Jerry's recommendation and have been very happy with it. I got it off e-bay (from the people listed in the link in jerry's post.) Shipping was very quick and they do an exceptional job of packing it.

I'm a little wary of Smittybilt now, it seems that many of their formerly US made products are now imported from China.
