rear window not closing

Does this look right? The window rattles and let's water in sometimes. Just want to make sue I'm not missing anything. I font understand why the door closing doesn't just close on the seal....unless my door is sagging and its supposed to

It almost looks like you closed the door and then the window

I wish it was that simple but the door closing doesn't even touch the seal from the windshield. It scrapes by it and then closes but the window can move past it. I feel like a piece of rubber hanging down an inch or 2 from windshield would do way more

Try and take the black brackets(the ones a few inches towards the inside of the Jeep, behind the glass) I know a buddy of mine had a top that was aftermarket, he had to take his soft top rear window rail brackets off before it would fit.

After that, I'm at a loss

And make sure you don't have the rear window rail from the soft top put in there

I'm pretty sure I have the hard top plastic piece........hope I'm not eating my own words saying that. I ordered another kit seal and plastic bar that rear GLASS window inserts into and then seal sticks to that piece....right?

The rear window shouldn't insert into any bar, it sounds like you have the rear window bar from the soft top attached. If so, take it off

Is that a factory top or an aftermarket one?

Take the black brackets off that are attached to the tub. They should only be used for the softtop to latch in. My hardtop seals completely once the brackets are off, hopefully yours does too.

I have never taken my soft top tailgate brackets off when using the hardtop. Never been a problem for my Jeep.

Maybe you are missing the lower rubber part? Did you try and unloosen the hinges and move the window down?

I went out and took a couple pics of mine for you. Hope it helps. Good luck.

I second tjdave. I have the same soft top brackets on the back and have a nice seal with my hardtop window. How's the rubber on the seal? Old and cracked possibly?

Thanks for the pics man! Thats all I needed . its either my door is sagging a hair or the glass is a hair high. When shut the doornlooks good but hopefully they'll meet in theiddle after I mess with em a lil. Mine tailgate juuuuust slides past the rubber, not able to create that seal. Thanks again

I've never tried to put my hardtop on with my soft top bracket, but I cant see how the glass would seat with it. I can snap some pics in the morning if it would help.

Mine does this too. I lowered the window as far as it will go, and tried to raise the door a bit to help, but if I even lightly/med slam the front door, it pops out again
I'm hear to see if you find a fix, or if I come up with anything to let you know, it's a pita

I have also heard of people using soft plastic tubing for a cheap fix. Cut it down the center and slip it over your hardtop glass, or on top of the tailgate.

Alrighty went out and loosened some bolts on the back window and was able to slide it down a hair and thats all it needed. Now closes tight, I reinstalled those brackets but they pushed it out a little so I took them back off. Also took off the old window seal that the door seals to and put on the new one since I had it. Thanks for all the input guys, here's some pics. You can see how much it slid down from the dirt
