Rebuild axle vs Crate axle

I have a dana 44 rear axle for my TJ (it had a small crack in the housing and it was re-welded) and it has the ring and pinion that are not set right and making the terrible noise they make when not set right. Also it has an ARB in it and I'm praying that the spider gears are ok. I was thinking of rebuilding it with new gears and adjusted properly. But then I came to the pricing of all the gears and install ( I don't want to risk it doing it myself) and this is what I came up with for pricing.
Ring and Pinion-$120-$300 and another $350-550 for the install
ARB spider gears- $450 just for the spiders and probably just as much as the R/P install if not more. The spider gears alone are almost half of what a brand new ARB cost. The most it would cost if the spider gears are shot would $1850.
OR I can get a new dana 44 with 4.88's, ARB, 33 spline all what is in my axle right now and would be all new for about $2300, that's with free shipping and I would install it myself.

Would it be worth it to rebuild my rear axle or should I just start fresh and get a brand new one for just a little more?

Yeah that's what I've been thinking of doing but don't know. But the pricing is so close that it's almost worth the extra cash to buy new. Just need to find a job and finish my last year of college.... But I guess I need an axle to drive my jeep so spending that much is reasonable.

That's the other thing I can sell my axle as and get some money back from it. I got a shop that will buy for $500 and I put up on craigslist with all the information on it with what was wrong and people were offering me $600-800 for it so that's a possibility.

Do it! If you sell it for $500, you're already $50 ahead. And you have a ready to bolt in, fresh axle.
