Smile Recommended Cleaning Products

Hi all,

First time poster on this forum, first time Jeep Wrangler owner First of all, let me tell everybody how excited I am to own this vehicle. I've never been a car junkie, but I've wanted this Jeep for as long as I can remember. Just picked up a yellow 2002 sport with soft top, manual drive.

Anyway, on to my questions. I understand it's not good to take the soft top through a car wash, so it looks like fun times in the driveway this summer What products do you guys recommend? For the soft top, plastic windows, exterior paint, tires, inside vinyl, dash board, cloth, etc.?

Somewhere I found a good page on all this, but I lost it and can't find it again. If anybody recommends any good detailing site, especially for the Wrangler, please post.

First off welcome to the forum!! And post PICS!!! And WAVE!!

I have taken mine through the car wash a few times it it was fine but I don't do it regularly and wash it myself. Bestop sells some top cleaner, or you can get any convertible top cleaner. Mothers is always a good brand of wax to use.

I can say never use paper towels to clean your windows or they will get cloudy real fast. You can always clear them up with a metal/plastic polisher and a buffer machine.(Speaking of I really need to do that).

I really don't bother with fine detailing of my jeep because for some reason mud puddles and dirt road seem to magically appear infront of me and are unavoidable.

The first thing you need to do is go get it dirty and take pics. Jeeps love it dirty

Bestop makes the best soft top cleaner in the history of the universe!!

Too much? Sorry.

Zybeon is absolutely correct. We sell some, but any convertible top cleaner is fine. You can scrub the top pretty vigorously too - it's tough.

BUT let's talk about those vinyl windows.

Treat those with respect. Soft cloth, no paper, and be VERY careful what chemicals you put on them. No cleaners or protectants UNLESS it specifically says it's made for them.

Soft cloth and a little dish soap is fine, and works great. We sell a cleaner designed for the windows, but honestly, it's not necessary. It is absolutely necessary to be nice to your windows, or they will scratch or discolor.

Welcome to the forum! Listen to Geoff about the top and windows.... He's the MAN! As far as the rest goes it's your usual car wash 101.. You can go to the coin op, but do the diy version. Honestly it takes 15minutes to wash and dry a TJ in the driveway... There isn't very much too 'em...

Thanks Geoff. I'm looking at the website, and can't find any cleaning products. Does bestop make stuff for the windows as well as the soft top?

Large bristled brush (medium in stiffness) haha stiffness.

Anywho, works wonders on tops, a lil elbow grease, a lil cleaner of your choice, and lots of water.
