red led gauges

So yesterday I bought 8 red led lights from superbrightleds for my gauges and hvac. Do many people do this? And if so how does it look? Does the dimmer still work?

I did mine in red as soon as I realized the new head unit had multiple display color selections. I like it, though the HVAC controls are just a bit dim. Not enough to matter though. Easy mod, and looks great.

Don't get anything but these:

#74-xHP3 LED CAR BULB Specifications

If you get the ones with single diodes you will get hot spots.

I've wanted to do this as well, but the thing that worries me is if I get the blue lights I've heard that you can't see the needles in the gauges as well...

I have the red ones and can barely notice the difference in the dimmer, but that's fine. I never use it anyway. I had the HVAC done, but it didn't light up bright enough from the lights I put in. I may try again with better ones one day.

I did the overhead and courtesy lights as well. Makes it look like a cockpit when I open the doors to get out at night.

I have the 74-xhp
They are perfect no hotspots. I love them
Didn't bother doing hvac because I heard you can barely see a difference.

A little blurry, but there's no hot spots in mine. Nice, bright, and even

the pics dont do it justice from my phone, and cant use a flash...lol

the only "issue" with the heater controls is the blue area on the temp dial comes across as dark. and the red temp area is bright. I guess its the nature of what you are doing. The red LED and blue temp make it dark like purple (red and blue make purple I think) the rest of the icons are uniform looking, except for the bright red temp and dark blue temp. the gauges up top are all uniform, very red that's for sure.

That's about how mine looked. I thought it wasn't bright enough so I put the stock bulbs back in. Well, I put two of them in because I stepped on one. One is still red LED.

thanks, but I'm good with it the way it is. Slightly more subdued. Now I think they have brighter ones than they did when I ordered mine. I've just been busy with performance upgrades lately.
