It's your Jeep, if you like them, go for it!

Maybe they would be fine but not sure if I would trust those under a heavy pull

Sorry about my dog being in the picture but these are the style I use.You would need a stronger bumper though

Safety Yellow... Then you can see them in adverse conditions.

The D-rings definitely have their advantage (don't have to worry about the strap/winch) slipping off or anything, but the hook will hold up fine in most cases

The red tow hooks are certainly a personal taste deal. Based upon the picture you posted, my personal opinion is I prefer them black....

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that type of shackle mount is absolutely totally unsafe for use in vehicle recoveries/extractions. No kidding, no exaggeration. That type of mount is meant for non-recovery applications like for a truck bed for lashing loads down, and definitely should not be used for vehicle recovery.

Shackle tab mounts on bumpers should be mounted to adequate bar stock (mine is 1/2") that is passed through the bumper and welded on both sides by someone who knows what they are doing.

You will find pictures of Jeepers with their shackle mounts bolted on that way but that doesn't make it right or safe.

As far as painting the tow hooks, one of mine was chrome, the other black, so I painted them Transport Yellow. I've had mixed emotions about it ever since. I'm thinking they'll be black before long.

Don't apologize about your pup! I have a pup that looks a lot like yours but that brown color on his face! The best dog is a Jeep dog!
