My 2000 tj hardtop lets in a lot of noise when traveling on the hwy at 70 mph.
On this trip from tx to co we ducked taped the top at the windshield and cut the noise in half.
What is a better solution to cut the noise?

I'm gonna rehash an old thread rather than start a new one. I used my phone Db app to check noise level and it was getting up to about 95dB at 65mph and to me that doesn't seem right. I have a hardtop, stock exhaust, 5.5" lift, AT tires, Bedlined tub with carpeting up front, no carpet in back. Could this be right?

The hardtop is absolutely quieter at highway speed on wife’s 04 rubi and my 98 sport both have both tops and the soft tops are factory sail cloth and hardtop properly fitted is much quieter as no top flipping noise

You can actually have a normal voice conservation on freeway with hardtop

Now if you try with half doors and crap uppers maybe not but full doors and hardtop is much much quieter than soft top with full doors

Boy did they get punked. I guess it just show how little checking of news the current "journalists" do.

If some one want to replace the windshield header seal, the reference in post 3 is correct. I however went with the Mopar OEM (same part number) rather than the Crown when my Jeep was painted.
