I have the new pan and gasket, but I'm a little leary about the fact that it looks like I have to take out the starter and the exhaust. I can't seem to find a repair manual on the 2005 wrangler, so I'm in the dark.
The starter is pretty simple to pull off. There are 2 bolts and it will practically fall out. So don't be under it. The exhaust can be tricky depending on how much rust is covering your bolts. You should definitely replace the exhaust gasket between the collectors and the *Y* pipe. Both are really simple and go back in just as easy. Make sure you don't over torque the bolts going into the oil pan. They are specific so you don't squash the new gasket. Although, I have no recollection of what the specs are.
next time make the quads wait, jeeps are more important
and remember the unwritten rules of the road...the vehicle that is bigger/ bigger tires gets the right of way
