Pull the 5amp fuse in the lower right hand corner. You will however lose the annoying chime if you leave the headlights on with the key off, so... no big deal.

Fuse #4 I believe will kill the lights but as mentioned, kills the "dinger" that warns headlights are left on.

Yes, fuse #4 behind the glovebox. I took mine out years ago and have never put it back in. On my '04, The dome light turns on for about 3 seconds after turning the Jeep off. Other than that, it stays off unless I manually turn it on.

Correct on the headlight dinger. Also the seatbelt dinger too.

I have never accidentally left my headlights on.

What Jeep owner does not turn around and look at their Jeep before walking into the store or house??

You can always install a relay triggered by an ignition activated source to turn your head lights on and off with the key and just leave them on all the time..

Just unscrew and remove the pressure sensors in the door jam.

Ok sorry but I'm scared that these people are allowed to drive. If you really think you have to do all that work to shut the lights off then go check yourself into the nearest mental hospital. Just buy these, I have them and they are probable the best investment ever. Just make sure to remove before putting your doors back on, the doors will close but they take out a chunk of paint about the size of a dime....

I feel the same way about people who consider removing a fuse a large task.

You drop the glove box pull a fuse put the glove box back. Takes all of 5 seconds. And was FREE. Why do you think people who pull a fuse for dome lights shouldn't drive?

Sounds like your the one who needs to check in to the nearest mental hospital...

Yeah that was a weird reply. Maybe he thinks we won't be able to see at night if we don't have a dome light

You can buy the stuff to build this set up cheaper, but if you don't want to deal with Radioshack you can just get the kit for $25.

Flip on, flip off. No fuse to pull, no clips to keep track of, no hassle.

Just pull the fuse. You can still manually turn on the dome light if you need it and leaving your lights on won't be a problem because, as already stated, every Jeeper walks backwards into the house because they're staring at their Jeep the whole time. Those stupid clips are a waste of money and they fall off, easily. Plus, rewiring something when it doesn't need it IS a reason to be commited to a nut house. A lot of work, good grief. What is this world coming to?

Lights Out - No Doors, Inc.
If you shut your doors with these still on, they no longer work... guess how I know that one...

I've since gone to a switched set up. I like it, I seldomly have my lights on, unless I know I'll be needing them.

Yeah I've definitely been a victim of a dead battery because the warning chime was cut off. Oh well, I got a new pair of jumper cables out of it!

I can't remember where I saw it but it was eather quad or 4wd that had a wire that would plug into number 4# like a switch and when you took the doors off you just hit the switch. This is also easily made!

Thats the kit I bought, but the fuse that pluged into the panel kept falling out, so I had to make my own.

Yea I made my own switch and put it on the side of the dash. A couple blade connectors to insert into the fuse slots, an inline fuse, switch and some wire. Real easy .

I just ordered the need supplies to make my own kill switch. $8.80 on Ebay.
Should take me just a few minutes to wire it up. I have been pulling the fuse, my only complaint with that is that I sometimes spill the contents of my glove box on the floor in the process.

I just hope it doesn't take too long for the stuff to get here. You know how slow some of that stuff on Ebay can be.

I went to Radio Shack and got a cheap switch and wired it in myself. I already had all the wires and clips. Think I paid 2 bucks total and about 30 minutes time! I' m to lazy to open the glove box and pull a fuse...
