Removing The Rear Seat

I have owned my Jeep for 1 1/2 years now. I have never removed the back seat. Never had a need to.

Until this weekend ...

Friday night's storm knocked down half of my fence. I removed the rear seat so that I could transport bags of concrete (for the new fence posts.)

Now, if I can just figure out how I got the seat out, so I can figure out how to put it back in. I think I know how. I'll see tomorrow.

The front of the seat has 2 pins on the base on either side. Tilt the seat forward so the crease is facing up, one of the pins slides into the front brackets first, slide it all the way in and line up the other side pin with the other bracket, and slide it that way to have both pins in (I don't use a rear seat, but I believe its the right pin first)

Then rock the seat back into the back brackets, and it will click in.

Don't forget to slide the seat belts between the cushions!

Hope that helps. Or more so... Hope I remembered it correctly.

With the seat folded and tipped forward, place the seat on to the front brackets so it locks in. While pushing down towards the front brackets, roll the seat back into the rear brackets. Unfold the seat and it should click in.

I have a terrible time doing this and rarely get it right the first time.
