You should be able to feel the back edge of the race. You can use a rental slide hammer puller, with the jaws reversed to catch the back of the race.

Push the race back into the housing end. Clean the edge of the bearing bore so their is no crap to hang up the race.

Reach in and grab the race with both thumbs and start spinning it slightly back and forth while you move it out. That will stop it from cocking in the bore and hanging up and it will slide right out. No tools needed.

Funny thing I just did this thing without reading what you wrote first. Used some PB blaster and worked it with my fingers for a little and came right out. Kinda scratched the inside of the tub tho from trying to use tools but shouldn't be a problem right? It's not horrible.
