Replacement soft tops

I'm in the market for a replacement soft top that uses the factory hardware that won't break the bank (I'm 17)
I was looking at the smittybilt top, the rugged ridge xhd, or the quadratop, I know best top makes the oem ones and are the best ones out there but I just can't afford one right now, also should I sell my hard top and just run a soft top?

I like my hard top for the winter. I bought a quadratec top, and it didnt fit correcty. Quadratec says that from the description I gave them, I had a best top frame, and that is why it didnt fit right.

Hey if I were you id sell the hard top, you could get enough for a soft bestop but you could also get a cheapo top and keep the extra cash. Ive run a soft top since ive had mine in north MS winters and ive always been warm and comfortable. Youre a kid so you can tough it out you may as well do it now bec. when youre old is when youll want a hard top again. I bought the rugged ridge xhd top, it uses the factory hardware I installed it myself in maybe 45 mins but thats bec. I screwed the header on backwards first. Im happy with it, the windows arent quite as thick as the factory ones but it fits great and looks good. I got my top with half doors for 400, if youve got the cash you could get a soft top, keep the hard one for a while, if you decide you dont need it sell it.

I had the hard top off for the past two days as I was doing some work installing 2004 rubicon seats in my 1997 and finishing making the gray interior black and I really liked the look without any top, so I decided I'm most likely selling the hard top, ill probably keep it until it gets warmer then switch over to the bikini top when I sell it and buy a replacement soft top (I'm on Long Island, ny)
For you guys that live where snow is prominent, how's the soft tops hold up against 1+ feet of snow?

Personaly I would (and did) sell the hard top & use the $$$ to get a good quality Sailcloth Replace-A-Top soft top from Bestop which will fit your OE hardware perfectly. Sailcloth is quieter & will last substantially longer than the cheap fabrics used by companies like Smittybilt who just import their junk from China.
When you have a choice, buy American.

I'm going with a frameless when the time comes. IMO....they look better.

Replace-a-top from Bestop sounds like the way to go.
