I'm going to be replacing me speakers soon in my 2006. 6.5 in the soundbar and 5.25 in the dash. My question is what all will I need to make this work? I see some people say I have to buy an adapter for the dash. I want to avoid cutting anything metal. I'd prefer to not drill new holes but if I have to I will. Is that possible?

Roy will have to drill screw holes for the 6.5". You need these for the dash Jeep Wrangler (Tj, Rubicon, Unlimited) Front Dash Speaker Adapter 1997-2006. Converts 4 By 6 Inch Factory Speakers to 5.25 Inch Aftermarket Speakers (4x6" to 5.25"). http://amzn.com/B007ZDCGVG And you have to cut a little/trim metal behind the dash. I used a Dremel tool. Mine is a 2000. Sounds like you don't want to do any of this but you want the speakers. I guess you have to weigh what you want more. Some one drilled holes for the 5.25's already was in the factory but oh well. 6.5 will cover them. Point being don't be afraid to modify.

Edit lmao auto correct started this off changing you to Roy. It made me laugh. I'm leaving it.

I'm not too worried about drilling for the sound bar. I just didn't know about the dash. I thought it would just fit right in. I looking at the Nalin MFG adapter. Do you for sure have to cut?

From there website looks like I have to cut you don't! Lucky dog! It wasn't hard though lol. NOTE: All 97-02 5.25" speaker modifications(reguardless of adpater manufacturer) require you cut metal inside your dash. Exercise caution, use appropriate safety equipment, and take the time to read a "How-To" write-up before taking on this project. Give me a call and I can walk you through it, my cell is on this website.

Here is there site

Now I just need to decide if I want to do the sound bar or dash first.

You definitely do NOT have to cut anything on your 06
