Replacement top question??

Ok, I just bought a 97 Jeep this week that came with both a hard top and a soft top. The previous owner said in the 4-5 years that he owned it, he never put the soft top on. He hadn't taken the hard top off for a couple of years. The top looks as if it had "never' been installed, but, the frame work is somewhat worn. I layed the framework out and I'm wondering if I'm missing something. Here is a picture of the framework I received. Now what? It almost resembles the framework of the YJ..

Supertop for TJ. Looks complete to me, assuming you've got the bolts.

Installation guide right here.

Do you happen to have a list of replacement parts for the "supertop". I've got a couple of plastic pieces that are cracked. Do you have any tips on taking the top down? I've got another 97 with factory soft top and it is a piece of cake to put up and down. It seems as if this is probably a two person job if you want it up or down quickly. What is the best way of storing the top itself while the frame is in the down position? I really do like the top though, I just wish it was as easy as the oem. Maybe with practice and a few tips, I'll get used to it.
Thanks again,
Chuck

I have a 97 with a soft top, I can't tell from the picture but there is a metal piece for the front and the back and I only see one there and that looks like it belongs on the back is the metal piece for the front on the soft top itself?

I dont' have a list of parts, but we do sell all sorts of replacement bits and pieces. Call 800-845-3567. Our customer support team is way better at what you're asking than I am.
You can also send email to csbestop@bestop.com - if you take a photo of the broken piece it helps them.

Oh wow you work at Bestop, I have a replacement top from you guys it's a SailCloth one and I love it, much quieter than the stock model. and very durable, it's stood up against some pretty harsh weather up here(Alaska) and still is in great shape.

JamesDeanBlvd: I just forwarded your email to our customer support teams. They'll get you a better answer than I can.

AKWrangler: Thanks for the kind words. I remain in awe of people who keep those soft tops going year round in places like Alaska. I usually park my CJ when it gets too cold.

If you are referring to the long black metal piece at the right of the rack, that is the piece that goes over the top of the windshield and the front of the top connects to it. The piece for the rear was already attached to my rear window.

That looks like my soft top hardware . You can look on several jeep websites for replacement parts, or if you know the manufacture, give them a call and let them know you need the pieces.
