Replacing door/windshield hinges

As many people seem to be against chrome trim. I am someone who likes the look and durability of polished stainless steel. I purchase a set of windshield hinges and door hinges for my 2006 unlimited. I didn't think it would be too hard to do, but I have already run into a problem. How do you remove the doors? I removed the nut at the bottom of the upper and lower door hinges and nothing. I tapped it with a block of wood and a hammer and then just with the hammer and nothing. They won't budge. I thought the doors themselves could be removed, but I am stumped. I realize the new hinges are sold as 3 seperate pieces, so I am assuming that the stock hinges should come apart. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated greatly!

all you have to do is set your floor jack ontop of a 5 gallon bucket, or use a 4x4 block of wood on your floor jack

Helps too if you wiggle the doors and/or open/close them as you are trying to get em off. And PB Blaster can help free up the pins.

I guess too since you are replacing the hinges anyhow, you could unbolt the hinges, pull the doors then pop the upper hinges off the lower ones, then remove the lower hinges.

Use some type of pentrating oil in the split of the hinge to get them started. WD-40, 777, PB-whatever you have. Makes a big difference, and might be all you need.

Careful with those torx screws. You'll probably have an easier time getting the door hinge screws off with the door still on.

I appreciate all of the help. I am still waiting for the backordered door hinges. I think I will probably just take all of the screw off and not worry about trying to get them apart. I figure it would be just as easy. I hate the painted torx heads. They are a bear.
