Replacing relocated stock trackbar with metalcloak

So I currently have a regular trackbar that has been moved over with a new hole drilled. The hole has wallowed out a little and I'm replacing it with an adjustable trackbar. I ended up going with the metalcloak trackbar so I will have to drill out the axle side hole to 1/2"

I'm guessing the space between the larger hole and the previous hole from relocation will be small, does anyone know if this will be a problem?

Also, any clue what to torque the new trackbar to?

Is this the front or rear? What's your impression of the track bar? Do you have any pics?

It is the front. Haven't unwrapped it all the way yet but I can say that it is heavy. Probably about 25lbs. Not that that actually means anything... Was going to wait to unwrap until I'm going to put it place so nothing stupid happens to it.

Doesn't the front TB require a 5/8" hole drilled out on the frame side as well?

The MC front trackbar due to the frame side heim and smart bends gives to most clearance of any aftermarket TB and requires no additional bumpstopping over stock which is nice. Just make sure you have at least 2" lift if you want the axle to center properly on the frame. Good pickup.

The axle side bracket is 1/2in hole, the frame side is a 5/8in hole. I would suggest getting as much room as you can (removing tires, coils, etc.) when you drill the hole, or the bit will catch and the drill will smack you in the face (found out the hard way). I had more problems removing my stock TB than anything. the MC bar installation was a breeze.

Took care of it this morning. No problems at all. Thanks for the advice on moving things out of the way, definitely had the drill kick a few times on me.

After all was said and done it was very easy and straightforward. Got burned by some of the metal shavings as they came out and had the drill buck a few times when it would catch. When I was done and went on a little drive to check it out, the steering wheel had rotated to the left.

Looks good. I just installed the MC rear track bar yesterday..much easier is it uses the stock hardware and requires no drilling. I haven't had a chance to test mine out on the trail, but I don't for-see having any issues with either the front or the rear.

Nice to hear. That's one of the next issues I need to address. I inherited the jeep from my parents and unfortunately a lot of things were done at a shop several years ago and I'm trying to rectify a lot of problems that were caused by a poor setup and a lot of years.

I was back and forth between the MC rear track bar or a Currie, so I had to really weigh the options with the type of wheeling I will be doing with my time left here in the UK, and the direction I want to take my build. The price was a plus, but I really like that the rear MC tbar uses the factory mount instead of any type of relocation bracket.

The jeep seems to be much less wobbly and have less drift back and forth while I drive straight. This of course is compared to the original trackbar that had been set 1/2" to the right to accommodate the lift and had a wallowed out axle side hole.
