Question rhinoliner prep questions

Well started the winter project of rhinolining my 1999 Sahara and I have a few questions;
-is it necessary to remove the roll cage from the vehicle?
-how to remove the wireing harness that runs over the drivers rear wheel ,under the lip the hardtop sits on,it has a wire that I assume runs down through a rubber grommet towards the tailight?
-the wire harness under the drivers seat, one end goes to the parking break lever the other end was disconnected(plug),I assume it was plugged into the drivers seatbelt?
-my tailgate hardly opens or closes(even harder with the 32" spare removed, feels like the hinges are shot,Ive searched and learned there are no bushings that can be replaced? so the only fix is to replace the entire hinge(both)?

thanks

No you don't need to remove the roll cage... most people line either a portion or most of it.

You can leave the drivers side wire run in, just work around it. If you remove the clips by the drivers seat there is enough play to get most of it out of the tub.

There should be a wire harness for the console speaker and one that plugs into a connector under the drivers seat... none for any seatbelts

no clue on the tail gate.

From what I have read you have to change the hinges out.

Are you doing a roll on or taking it to be sprayed?

If you are doing roll on prep is the key.

Yup roll on, and I prepped all day yesterday, sanding ,washing, tapeing, removing stuff, etc. Im anal and try to do things right, sometimes it ends up working against me and doubles the time. But its usually worth the effort when I get to the final product!

Guess Ill just use the hinges till they are shot then replace them.

If the plug under the drivers seat isnt for the seatbelt then does anyone know what its for, mine wasent connected when I bought the car?

thanks for the replies

Im also replacing my suspension and have been snapping off bolts left and right! Even after soaking them in liquid wrench for a few days. Very poor design, seems like its a common problem. Any tips outside of ,breaking off the spot welded nut on top, drilling and tapping?

Yes you have to replace the hinges (both of them) on the tailgate. I would also suggest investing in a tire carrier to get that 32 incher off the tailgate.

Well I left the roll bar in and spent 1.5 days prepping the jeep,I was supposed to go to Miami today for a small vacation and the icy weather caused major cancellations,so decided to spend the day in the garage and just finished the 2nd caot of rhinoliner! Application was pretty straight forward. Ill leave it sit for 2 days before replacing the interior hopefully it will be long enough for it to dry.
My OME suspension was also delivered today so its next on the project list!!

Now I need a beer.I think I lost some brain cells with the odor from the VOC's coming off the rhinoliner.

I taped up the connectors, pulled some wires out of the way, and just painted some of the wires.
