rim questions

Ok,i have an 06 wrangler and i have a set of 31x10.50s that i want to mount on my jeep.I like the wider stance that i see on some jeeps and was wandering what do i need to get to achieve that.I want to get me some outlaw 2 rims and am not sure what size i need to achieve what i want. Also do i need wheel spacers? Thanks.

adjust the steering stops if your using stock wheels, or buy wheels with a different backspacing.

dont use wheelspacers. They place extra stress on things, like wheel bearings and some have caused long term damage that you may not see right away.
Even a spacer as small as 1/2 inch is not really a good idea.

You may be fine but why take the risk?

i dont think you would need to go the the extreme of buying new wheels with different backspacing. the rubbing would be minimal and easily (and free) fixed with adjusting the steering stops. unless you drive in tight circles all day you wont notice a difference

also.. find out if you have 15x7 or 15x8 rims.

the 15x8 should have no issues at all

15.7s might rub a little on the lower control arms at full turn, but like i said its nothing adjusting the steering stops wont fix

Think of what your ultimate goal is with your jeep. Do you want to turn this into something you can take on some trails and wheelin or are you wanting to just have that "tough" look on the street?

If your planning on doing the trail thing then i would look into how much lift, wheels, things like that. Then everyone can help you figure out the best way to achive what you want. At the least ammount of out of pocket for you.

No reason to do some little mods if your going to end up changing them later down the road.

The American Racing outlaw 2 wheels come in 15x7 and 15x8 and both only have 3.75'' of backspacing. If you get the outlaw 2 wheel you will have NO need to adjust the steering stops. If you use your stock wheels "which you can mount a 31x10.5 on you may have to adjust the steering stops to prevent some rubbing on the front lower control arms when turning full lock.

To get your "wider stance" just go with the 15x8 outlaw 2 wheels with 3.75'' BS.

As just stated the outlaw 2's have 3.75'' of BS. This it what must of us run 12.5 wide tires on with no problem.

The outlaw 2 wheel will be fine with the 31x10.5 tires.

But I will suggest you go with the 15x8 wide wheel. Because sometime down the road when you want to go bigger the wheel can still suit your needs.
