Hey yall, can i put a set of 15x10 rims on a stock jeep? Also i cant seem to grasp the backspacing, off set concept, any one have a simple rule of thumb for that subject? Thanks.

Yes you can fit 15x10's but you would likely want to be running a 13"+ wide tire on them and check.the back spacing. A lot.of folks, myself included, run 8" wide wheels.

Easy way to under stand backspacing. The distance from the inside lip (where the tire bead touches the rim on the inside) to the hub (the flat part where the rim touches the hub on the axle) .

Here is the confusing part a factory wheel has 5 to 5.5" of back spacing and the tire sits flush to the fender flares. An after market wheel has 4" of back spacing (or less backspacing) and the tire and wheel stick out from the flares by an inch. Because the part where the rim bolts to the hub is closer to the inside of the rim by 1" then the oustside sits further out by 1" given the rim width is the same for both wheels.

yes, so long as the 31x10.5 has a 15" wheel opening.
