Rims

Did a search couldn't find an answer. I have a set of 5 canyon rims that came on my 97 Sport. I recently changed the rims cause the clear coat/finish on them is coming off. They are in great shape (no rash) and I like them but they look like crap. How or where can I take them to get refinished. I'm not sure if a body shop would do it or if I would have to send them away. I live in NY also.

Didn't have 2 seconds to spare. I was asking to see if anyone local to me could give me some info or advice.

This guy is a nut case. Y'all should have seen the angry PM he sent me saying I shouldn't have replied to his post "if I wasn't going to help". If my first post wasn't meant to help by providing a dozen wheel refurbishment shops in his area for him to look into to do what he wanted to do, since I didn't live in his area and couldn't provide a direct recommendation, I dunno... I guess I just shouldn't have even tried to help since it wasn't good enough for him. "Didn't have 2 seconds to spare" was a great come back when I mentioned the Google search I did for him only took two seconds.

Guess I'm crazy, here's my angry Pm:

*** BEWARE ANGRY PM TO FOLLOW / USE CAUTION AND HIDE THE KIDS ***

Do me a favor, if you cannot help me with my question then please don't reply. I was asking that question because people I know haven't done this kind of thing. I wanted someone who was local to me and give me a reputable business that does this. I could have googled it and did and came up with a lot of places but don't know their work. Maybe I'm just a stupid noob so next time I have a question I'll google it, check Haynesworth, and then Jeep.

Jerry replied:

You're really (!) something! I TOOK THE FRIGGING TIME to do a search for your area to provide you with a dozen wheel refurbishment shops you could contact and now you frigging have the nerve to complain to me with a PM?

Do me a favor, just put me on Ignore from now on. I'd really not rather have to deal with anyone with your attitude. MOST people would have at least said thank you but no, not you.

I replied:

Provided what. As you said a 2 second google search. That wasn't the answer I was looking for. I sent a pm so a pissing match wouldn't start and everyone can see it. I thought this forum was to help people. Breaks my heart that your going to ignore me. Pardon me while I shed a few tears.

And sweet Jerry says:

No, I told YOU to ignore me from now on, I don't want to deal with people like you. MOST people appreciate it when people try to help but not you. I went to the trouble to gave you a list of a DOZEN wheel refurbishiment shops in YOUR AREA that you could contact but that wasn't good enough for you so you take the time to bitch to me.

Like I said, just put me on ignore because frankly, I am more than a little pissed with you attitude. I actually tried to help you in my first response to you but I'm done with you from now on.

If that makes me a nut case, so be it. I'll change my name then.

He lives on the other side of the country and took the time to reply to your post. You need to understand the difference between someone trying to help and people who just ignore your response. If he really did not care he would have ignored you like most people did on this post did. Just because it was not the information you wanted does not mean you go off on someone. Jerry is very helpful to everyone on the forum and he really wants to help. Maybe you need to wait until someone gives you the exact specific answer you are looking for, but with your response most people will most likely pass over any type of answer, even if they know what you are asking for. If you have to change your user name over something like this you should think a little bit more before you respond. This is a great community that is always looking to help rather than tear you down, but when you do not get your exact answer don't get all ticked off. People who respond, respond to help not hurt.

Again, I didn't get ticked off. I got a wise ass comment so I gave one back. With the amount of viewst he post had makes me think no one in my area has done this before. It was back 2 or 3 pages so I left it alone and didn't bump it. I sent Saint Jerry that PM to avoid this but he felt it necessary to show everyone. I'm sure he has helped a lot of people as I hope to have with the little knowledge I have. I didn't go off on him. I replied to his response and he and that other guy had comments I didn't appreciate. Just cause I don't have 8,000 posts doesn't mean I'm an idiot and don't know how to do a search. Next time I will be extremely specific in what I ask. Sorry if my angry PM scared anyone. Obviously I am completely wrong and Saint Jerry is right. If you can't help don't post wise ass comments.

I just TOTALLY apologize for this totally rude and non-helpful response I responded with that couldn't possibly have been well-intentioned or have helped you find the possible wheel refurbishment locations you asked for.

If I were you, I would just put me on Ignore. And so you won't have to suffer from any future equally rude and non-helpful help I might have thought about offering, I won't attempt to help you again in the future. That's a promise.

If I had a picture of a man beating a dead horse, I would post it. I know I'm a new Jeep owner, and in the few days of being a member of the forum I've learned a lot. But can we log into a Hummer forum if this is going to continue? Doesn't seem much like a Jeep thing to me.
