Rock crawler bumpers

Hey all, I am looking at buying a new front and back bumper for my tj and could use a little help. I found a set on eBay that I like but its just a picture of it ( not on a truck). I like the look of it but dont want it to stick way out in front of the jeep. If anyone has or knows people that has one, or knows where to find pictures of it on a jeep that would be greatly appreciated! http://www.ebay.com/itm/87-06-JEEP-T...-/190580156306

I don't have that exact one, but the Smittybilt SRC I just put on the other weekend looks almost identical. The pic makes it look a little exaggerated though cause of the angle that I took the pic. It only sticks out maybe a foot or 2 in front... Maybe.

Hope that helps!!

If you're actually gonna be playing in the rocks, I'd reconsider. Both of those bumpers will hurt your approach and departure angles pretty severely. Rock rigs need to be as tucked in and compact as possible.

Nor here in GA. I needed a new bumper and the winch/bumper combo was to good to pass up. Just some moderate trails and a little mud for me. Not really into the rock crawling thing. Thanks for the advice though!

I had to sell mine, couldnt even pull into a ditch without it dragging. It sticks out about 4 times more than the stocker.

That front bumper looks like it would be good for hauling dead animals.

Are you a hunter?

Nope. I went once or twice, it just wasn't my thing. Though I think it would hold a nice sized deer in it, if I ever wanted to.

I've always thought they were some of the coolest looking bumpers, I have always shied away because of the functionality aspect that others mentioned.

Thanks guys! And yeah I can see where they would be in the way for some things. For me, I live in Charleston SC, not many rocks to go over. Lol. Now I just need to fill in the void spaces with a ole warn winch! Haha

Is there any way you can take a picture from the side to show how far it sticks out? Maybe one with a tape measure showing distance from grill to the bars?

Ill take a better one for ya tomorrow. It sticks out about a foot from where the stock bumper was about 2 feet from the grill. I would rather it not stick that far out but oh well. I think a winch and lights will make it look better.
