Rock Slider Hardware

Hey ya'll, I got my new rock sliders delivered the other day and they're at the powder coaters right now. They came with the hardware that mounts them to the side of the tub (underneath the door) but no hardware for attaching to the underside of the body, I took my stock Rubi sliders off the other day and the holes that are drilled on the new sliders are pretty much a perfect match to the threaded inserts that are already on the underside that were used for the stock sliders - so it's pretty clear that that's how they'll be mounted. I was at Autozone today to pick up some hardware to use on the underside, I kind of stopped in my tracks because I didn't think it was right to use regular bolts where the bolt head would be sticking out, vulnerable to being mangled or sheared off while going over rocks. So my question is... do most people just use regular bolts? Or how about some sort of lower profile rounded head on a bolt? Countersunk is kind of out of the question because the holes aren't machined for those. My other small problem is that the original threaded holes I'll be using aren't considerable in size, so most likely I'll have to use washers or somehow find something with an extra wide head. Sorry for the long read.

when I put mine on I just used regular bolts and self locking nuts and there were some places I had to use a tap I actually got thicker ones and drilled bigger holes to give it more strength, you would have to be pretty darn close to a rock to shear of the head of a bolt they don't stick out that far lol.

Mine are built to slide where the body mounts are. So I had to loosen the body mounts jack the body up a hair slide mine in then the body mounts held them in place. Then the I put the side hardware in.

These are the blue torch fabworks sliders and they don't use the body mounts, they need to be bolted to the tub. I had been wanting the Poison Spyder rocker knockers for a long time but they were out of business so I looked elsewhere, come to find out a couple of days ago that they're back in business and they have a whole list of stuff that can be ordered over the phone before they get their new website up.

I gotta go into town today so I'll stop by fastenal real quick and see if I can find some button head screws that will work, otherwise I'll just go to vautozone and get some grade 8 hardware. Thanks guys.
