Rock Slider Install

After eyeballing a set of Rock Sliders / Guards / Rails / Whatever from Shrockworks for the past year-and-a-half, I finally took the plunge and ordered a set today. Always the King of Timing, I ordered at the height of summer; Suffice it to say that I won't be seeing these things until August, if I'm lucky!

So now I've got a little time to kill before the sliders get here... I'm looking for any installation tips, tricks, words of advice / encouragement before I tear into this project. Surely some of you have installed the Shrockworks sliders in the past and have some helpful advice!

I'm also looking for any thoughts some of you may have on the subject of using a gasket to lock out any environmental contaminants. I was also thinking about using silicon caulking along the top edge to help keep out unwanted moisture and grime. Anyone else doing this? I live in the Rust Belt, so I would really like to do whatever is necessary to prep the Jeep the right way to prevent any premature oxidation of my tub.
