ROCK SLIDERS frame mount VS body mount

Man I just cant make up my mind on which rock slider to get. Body mount or frame mount. I do have a 2.5L TJ with a 2in BB and 31s. So at first I was thinking of something light in wieght. Now I anm thinking of something heavier. I do keep the wieght of my 4 banger down to minimum due to the horse power to wieght ratio. I am or lets say like to do mild, ocassional wheeling and also right now she is my only rig. My daily driver is my grocery go getter. We sold our other 2 trucks cutting back. So I gotta baby her right now. So back to the subject. WHICH ROCK SLIDER ?

i say you're not gonna go wrong either way.. i think i have the first style frame sliders rokmen put out on my tj and they don't tie into the frame or the body mounts.. i've been using them for close to 6 years now and they're working just fine.. they make a frame tie in kit, but i just haven't bought it yet to tie it all together.. just my opinion..

Consensus is that body mount is stronger vs frame mounted. Additionally, you get more clearance with the body mounted rocker guards. As for an aluminum slider...

Body mounted rocker guards are MUCH stronger than frame-mounted are. Frame mounted guards are mounted on long mounting brackets bolted to the frame which gives the rockers enormous leverage against the mounts, not to mention the brackets get hung up on trail obstacles.

Tub mounted rockers have no such brackets to get hung up on nor do they give any leverage against what they are mounted to. You'll see nothing but tub mounted rocker guards on the hardcore Jeeps doing the really tough trails.

Rock sliders

Honestly the best quality and looks and works great is rock slide engineerings rock sliders. They work great keep damage off and keep you pushed away from the rocks. I highly recomend them.
