Rokmen - New Project in the Shop...

With so much going on at the shop we finally got some pictures up..

Fledge 2.0

Fledge’s owner, a long time Rokme Militia member, has wheeled the serious trails of the West for the last five years. Though Fledge was well built with bolt-on kits and parts, the owner was ready to narrow his focus from an expedition style vehicle to a serious rock-crawler that was also family friendly. Fledge needs bulletproofing with exceptional off-road capability to get the family through the trail and safely home again without the need to trailor.

With a few consults, some plans, and a test drive - the owner knew taking Feldge to a whole new level on the Freak platform was definitley the way to go.

Following our Keep it Simple, Keep it Solid approach - Fledge will be completely converted to our Freak Platform, and gone through thoroughly to remove, repair, and simplify previous modifications. Fledge will also get some some custom touches not seen yet on the Freak platforms.

Now the real transformation begins....
Some Specs:
Model: 2005 LJ Rubicon
Axles: Custom Spider 9 Assemblies
Engine/Transmission: Stock for now...
Wheels: Walker Evans 17" Beadlocks
Tires: 40"x13.5" GoodYear Kevlar MTR's
Suspension: Rokmen Custom Tuned 2.5"
Armor: Rokmen all the way around
Steering: Custom, w/PSC Hydro Assist

And lots of custom touches... You'll have to follow along to see them all...

The gallery with tons of pics can be seen here:

Awesome, Beautiful welds. Cant wait to see the finished product. Out of curiosity Do your customers get much hassle from cops about the tires not being covered? I love the way the corner crushers look with the tubing and no flares but I don't think I could get away with that.

It all depends.

First is how aggressive your state is with tire coverage rules etc.

Second(and this is the most often over looked) Is the appearance of your jeep clean and tight - do you attract attention to yourself.

Our builds don't get pulled over, unless you are giving Johnny Law a reason to pull you over.

Love the paddle latch for the tail gate conversion. Sure would be nice to have a kit that included the paddles, the interior brackets and a template for the plasma cutter!!

Thanks for the good words.

Most of everything that came off has already been sold.

Dave@rokmen, I've got to ask but is the rough cost for something like what you guys are doing to the Fledge 2.0.

Wolf - doing a complete build like this is actually not very expensive.

It's significantly cheaper than buying a bunch of bolt ons - installing everything - and finding out in a year or two you don't like what you have and want a Freak anyway...

If you are serious about a build like this give me a call.
