Rokmen slider alternative?

I was looking at the Rokmen wheel well to wheel well sliders, until I saw the price but also the weight. The web site said the pair weighed a 100lbs! Does that sound right? I'm putting MCE flattys on my TJ soon and I would prefer full body length sliders but I don't need anything heavy duty built for rock crawling. Any ideas for a lightweight alternative that is designed similar to the Rokmens? I haven't had much luck searching. Thanks for your time!

I just bought A to Z Fab but they are about the same weight..You want them strong for protection and also use as a jack point

Thanks fellas, I didn't think about hi-lift jacking points. That's a reality check but dang, another 100lbs, I'm gonna need to re-gear to compensate for the weight I'm adding, 80lb winch, 100lb sliders... and I haven't even lifted it yet! My goal of 35s is slowly diminishing , exemplifies the phrase "pay to play". I bought this TJ to trail ride and build up but gas prices have turned it into my daily driver for now, I get 16, my LJ gets 13. Poop.

Your the one that's bitching! Thats dedication, a diet, really? Wouldn't you rather have some cheesy bread sticks over a skid plate? LOL! Sounds like you may have the heaviest LJ on the planet, that might be the cause for global warming, tilting the earths axis off a bit.

I wish I could! I'm no good at metal fab. I've thought about making my own if I can learn how. Metal work is not a trade that I am experienced in but I might have to look into it. I do have access to a machine shop to do my own work so... Well see if I can motivate myself! It just seems a bit overwheleming.

Yup IG has it right. Its Brook's Custom Concepts ( BCC on JF ). I know he offers a nice set of full length rockers for LJs because he actually made the 1st set for my LJ but I decided to go with the Rokmens since they would match up better with my full corners. I sold the BCC set to a local club member for his LJ and he loves them.

From Rock Hard 4x4 Parts. They are only 60 lbs. Let me know if you are interested in pricing.

Namaste,

Allen

I looked into Brook's Customs, sounds like a good deal. I'll contact him this week. Thanks for the advice!

Updating an old thread:
Brooks custom concepts hooked me up with a custom length set of bolt on rockers for $125 shipped!! Even at 1/4" thick, the total weight is only between 50 and 60lbs. All hardware was included, the welds are professional quality and his directions were very easy to understand and helpful. I primed them with self etching primer and painted them with rustoleum pro-grade undercoating, $7 a can, one can was enough for 2 coats on the outside and bottom only. Now I have a good jacking point and heavy-duty side protection without a ton of weight. Finally, I bought something that went right! Now I just need to decide if I'm going to paint the bolt heads black, I kinda like the silver look for now. Thanks for recommending BCC, I will do the same.
