roll bar padding

Hey everyone!,
What year did TJ's start using the really big looking roll bar padding? I'm thinking 03 and newer? Rubicons only? I have a 97 TJ and i would like that style in black. Anybody have a set for sale?

My '00 has the narrow padding. The thicker stuff does look cool though.

They are meant to protect your mellon from hitting the steel bar. I would re-think going without it. Also if you do take it off have a can of paint handy. The last 2 03+ jeeps that I have helped take the padding off did not have the roll bar completely painted.

Thanks Scoob -
I noticed that when I started talking it off. My cage is two different colors, black and white.

The padding is just as hard as metal bars. Well sorry to disappoint, but i guess i will keep it on.

Well thats just cheap as heck aint it? Really doubt not painting the rest of the rollbar would have saved them much.
