Rollbar padding for 02

Ok my Jeep needs new roll bar padding because she came without any! My question is though will the 03-06 padding fit on my 02? I like that padding because its thicker! It's pricey but I would like it so guys and gals let me know! I'm planning to buy the 03-06 bestop padding

I don't think it will; IIRC the diameter of roll bar in the 03-06 models increased. If you are interested in a used set, I have a full set I'd let you have pretty cheap and would even ship them (on your dime). They are in pretty good shape; just faded a little. I can send you some pics if you are interested. Just let me know!

Don't hold me to the increase in bar diameter but I'm pretty sure there was a change.

The diameter of the metal roll bars is the same 97-06. The padding is just thicker. If you have a soft top, the bracket on the rollbar extends a little to the rear to clear the thicker padding. If you use 03-06 padding, you may have to cut sone of the padding away.

To tell you the truth I find the padding pretty annoying. Like I have an 02 as well and the padding is looking pretty shabby. I reckon some tight fitting thick wetsuit material ones would be awesome. Less fuss while still having padding.

I haven't been able to find anything like that though

Actual roll bar diameter is the same and just the padding is thicker BUT the mounting holes are different for the 97-02 and the 03-06 and they are not a direct swap. They will work but you will have to remove most of the mounting pins and tape the pads to the bars to hold them in place before installing the covers and yes your soft top bow mount brackets will have to change if needed. I have them on my 02 but I swapped out my whole interior including roll bar with a complete 04 interior.
