Rolled my TJ and now it won't start please help!!!!!!

I rolled my 99 tj sahara and now it wont start! Oil came out of the intake. Idk where to start! It won't even turn over

probably hydro'd, pull the plugs then crank it, that should clear the cylinders. then reinstall the plugs if it spins and give it a whirl. how long was it upside down?
make sure you didnt get something lose also, like wires somewhere. ;-) i know that helps... haha

Biggest issue is cylinders, not the intake. If you are hydro'd... the above method will clear it..

You will smoke, spudder and chug if you get it fired from the oil in the intake and combustion chamber, so don't worry. Let it clear.

Just make sure all your fluids are topped off... you don't want to run it without oil/coolant.

Once you've removed the plugs and blown the fluid out, if the plugs aren't flowled out then try cranking it over. The oil in the intake will burn out, but it will smoke for a while. Good luck.

X2, same thing for the gearbox/transfer case and axles... Upside down oil can leak away through the breathers. (or dipstick, if you have an auto tranny)

i think i would just replace the plugs for good measure. its only $20 and your going to be at the parts store getting fluids anyway. you could also get some carb cleaner to shoot thru your intake once it fires to help clean it out. just remember short controlled burst's, if you just spray away it will probably kill you motor and you want it to keep running once you get it fired.

The engine was probably hydrolocked. That's when the oil flows downhill (as it's upside down) into the cylinders, from the crankcase. The cylinders fill with the oil. Since oil will not compress (like air/fuel), the engine is unable to turn over during engagement of the starter motor. The starter attempts to turn, but is stopped due to hydraulic action of the compressing oil, trapped in the combustion chamber.

To relieve that pressure, remove ALL spark plugs, then attempt to start the engine, while the plugs are removed. This will 'spin' the engine, causing the cylinders to pump the fluid from the chambers, out the spark plug holes. Makes one hellava mess.

Once that's done, reinstall the plugs, and top off all fluids. Then try and start.

It may run, albeit crappy, until it burns off all the oil in the chambers. So don't get worried if it smokes like a chimney. That's normal.

It may have also damaged the internals of the engine. During hydrolocking, the starter spins the engine, which can cause the connecting rods to bend, or break. If this has occurred, you'll need major engine work. (Think $$$)

Pictures are superfulous. I barrel'd my YJ, down a mountain. Everything was bent. Badly bent.
Drove it out, under it's own power.
Albeit the radiator was spewing fluid the whole time, but thankfully there was a stream nearby. Had 5 gallon jugs, and kept refilling the radiator every 5 minutes. Took an hour, to drive a couple miles. But the only other option would have been a helicopter.

Thanks for all the help guys! I don't have any pics I was too worried about flipping it back over before anyone came by. I have power my headlights weren't dim and radio worked and stuff. I really hope all this works now I'm going to need a new set of fenders and a tailgate too and definitely an alignment haha I'll post pics of the damage maybe tomorrow if y'all have anymore ideas please post!! Also is there a rollover valve on tjs?
