Roof basket rack for my TJ.

I want to put a roof basket rack on my TJ, but I don't even know where to begin. Does anyone have some websites, or catalogs they could suggest?

There are lots of options out there, but I have to tell you about this one, because, you know, it's how I pay my bills. Brand new from Bestop.

Checkout www.mbrpinc.com

They cover 2 dr/4dr wranglers now and the rack can support much more that 500lbs

Quote:
You can get options of, full cover rack/basket/front light bar

How does that clamp to the body? Does it only work with soft tops?
On the website, it'd be nice if there were pics of it mounted on TJ's instead of all them being on JK's

Brand new thing, and I can't answer your questions yet.

I know when they were talking about it, that I thought it was great they were making the tube size compatible with Yakima and Thule stuff (usually we use bigger tubes), and that it installs without drilling. But it's so new I haven't really seen it yet, and I don't even have the installation guides yet.

Those pictures are actually prototypes, but the only change will be the bolts will be black.

I'll get more info on this later.

Remember that Roof Racks will lower your mpg and you will need covers to reduce the noise. look on craigslist, youll find lots of people selling good quality roof racks for cheap

Thats true, especially if you add lights in the front

Mine has dropped my mileage about 1 mpg (freeway), but it's quiet

It's an MBRP JK "rack"--Canada, will support over 500lbs and makes top removal A BREEZE (RACOR hoist)

I ordered the rack in Dec. of last year and it was a promotion/price, then MBRP and I made a deal on their prototype rack, so I don't know what the new prices are because there are so many options--you'll have to go to the website

I have a 2002 with a soft top.

I have the Kargomaster Congo Cage KargoMaster - Congo Cage Jeep Racks
with a Yakima Load Warrior mounted on it Yakima Products - LoadWarrior
and a Load Warrior Extension so it's longer Yakima Products - LoadWarrior Extension

It is sweet! Not much added noise or loss of power. It is very durable. The whole thing can tilt backwards easily so you can still move your soft top. I can get 4 hiking backpacks on it all strapped down. Message me if you want pics or more info.
