I also wanted a roof rack on my hardtop to carry snowboards. I ended up going to my local auto salvage yard and getting the factory rack off a ford escape. It fit almost perfect and does what i need it to.

Will a XJ roof rack work also?

The escape one looks similar

The xj rack looks like it probably would fit. I would obviously measure to make sure before drilling anything!

Agreed.. But thanks for the roof rack Idea.. Would have kept my XJ roof rack that I had if I ever had the foresight to put a stock roof rack on my hard top

The garvin rack is solid . Requires drilling but I got around it. I can jump up and down on it and it doesn't move at all. Plus it looks slick

A trip t the hardware store and you can make some Thule brackets
