Rough Country 3.25 inch lift

This past weekend i finally got around to installing my lift. I got the rough country 3.25 inch lift. So far i like it. I also got the Black Rock 15 inch rims with 3.75 backspacing with the Goodyear Mud terrain with Kevlar 32x11.5R15. I tried to get by without the t-case drop but i had to put it on do to driveline vibrations. I love the way it looks and am excited to see how it does off road! Thanks for looking!

Very nice looking jeep. What kind of front bumper is that? And is that a stock spare tire holder?

Thanks! Its a Fab-Tech front bumper. Found it on craigslist for a great price. Yeah thats the stock spare tire carrier. Its only a 32 inch tire so hopefully its not to heavy for it.

same as the last 2 posts..about to get this kit, any good tips, esp referring to track bar re-locating and what worked best for u, and any issues when shifting to 4L after installing?..any death wobble so far?

I have had this kit on for about a year now. As far as relocating the track bar, I did drill another hole in the bracket to center the axle. Which has worked just fine so far. I do have an adjustable on the way right now. Of course, in the parallel thread that is going on this subject, unlimitedlj04 says that the adjustable bar hits the diff and does other bad things. So now I dont know what the real answer is on that. This might just be another platform for him to talk about bumpstops. j/k

But to relocate the bar in the front, do it with the wheels on the ground, with somebody to turn the steering wheel slightly back and forth to line it up with the new hole that you have drilled. Do the rear with the wheels in the air. Use two jacks so that you can manipulate the axle up and down until you can get that bar to line up in the bracket right. Its kind of frustrating because there is little room to work being so close to the tank. just take your time.

Yes there will be issues with your transfer case shifter. Adjust the linkage until it works again. There will be DW if the front track bar is not as tight as can be. If all thats good than an alignment should be all you need to avoid it.

I had no issues with my shifter after installing this kit........

Thats cool. Its not that mine didn't work. It just didn't have the same smooth feel to it that it had before. It still doesn't actually. If you have any tricks you can share with that let me know.

I too am getting this lift kit. I've heard that it drives like its name...ROUGH. Any other opinions on that?

I had the shocks and still have the 2.5" coils and it does indeed ride rough with their shocks. Some high quality shocks fixed that issue though.

I got my lift in and will be putting it on soon. Did you have to get an extended brake line? And does the transfer case drop affect the shifter in any way?

I had to adjust mine to get into lo lock but I also have a 1.25" BL and that makes a difference.

I ran that lift for 2 years, I have just recently gone up to a 4" hybrid RC lift, all RC, but not a lift "kit", all RC control arms (X-Flex), RC adjustable track bars front & rear, coil correction plates, all kinds of stuff.

With the 3.25" run it with the trans drop for a month or so then take it out and try it without again, I didnt run the drop after about 6 weeks, later I went with the 1.25" body lift and 1" motor mount lift, never had any trouble, I also run RC spacers as I run 33x12.5s with 3.75" bs and they hit my control arms at full turn.

I would also recommend getting the bar-pin eliminators, the 2.2 shocks arent the greatest and the bar-pin elims. will help.

here are some pics of the 3.25" lift in action
the first pics are 31x10.5s, then 33x12.5s

My RC items I'm running -

4" non-progressive springs
2.0 shocks
coil correction plates
front adjustable track-bar with stock mount
rear adjustable track-bar
upper & lower X-Flex control arms
Extended front brake lines
steering box brace
front & rear bar-pin eliminators
belly up skid
1.25" body lift
1" motor mount lift
1.25" wheel spacers
front .75" poly spacers
Motive Gear 4.88 Ring & pinions

Ive got this lift also had it on i think since 09 or 10 and its holding up good. It does although ride rough though, where could i purchase replacement shocks?

Don't get the same ones if uoy want a better ride. Go with OME or Bilstein

you can get better shocks cheaper, the RC 9000 (now called 2.0) shocks are miles away better than the 2.2s and are priced very well, the ride quality between 2.2 and 2.0 is way more than the .2 implies lol

im thinking about getting this lift, but i dont want to buy new tires because i just put new 31's on. how would 31's look on it? would they be too small or be fine till i can afford some new ones?

Should be fine is its too high take the 3/4" spacers back off that come with the kit.

how did you guys put the coil spacers on u have to take off the bumpstop and slip them on which way do they go im quite confused at that part????

you will need to check for yourself.

hang the axle at full droop & turn the steering wheel lock to lock. see if the brake lines are taut when turned to either side. if they are, you need longer lines.
