Rough Country offer a 6" short arm lift that comes complete with everything you need for just over a thousand dollars.
I have read a few reviews and it seems to be a good kit for the money. Does anyone have any experience with this Rough Country or this lift in particular?
6" is not the most common lift (most people go for 4") does anyone have any experience with going to 6" beyond the need for a SYE and a CV drive shaft?

The problem with a short arm 6" lift is the fact of not driving on the right part of the tires up front. Instead of driving on the center bottom your going to be driving up on the toe of the tire which will make it extremely unstable. I feel it now in my 4in short arm and I hate it. I would say either go 4in short arm and a 1.25" BL or save up some more dough to get the long arm kit. With the long arm kit you will never know how well a wrangler can really ride! Hope that helps.

I wouldn't go over 4 inches with a short arm lift, I didn't even know they made a 6" short arm lol. My Jeep is unstable enough on the freeway...

I thought the control arms would be maxed out at that level, it seems like you would have a crazy bumpy ride as well.

After driving a guys Jeep with a long arm lift, I would never buy a short arm again.

They're offering a long arm for under $1500

I would not buy a long arm kit under 2k from a manufacture. Actually Rock 4x is making a in house long arm with a tummy tuck system that will be hopefully right at 2k. I would buy his but really the kits that are worth wild out there are 4kish.

Why wouldn't you pay under 2k for a LA kit... Most people don't have tons of cash to throw into a lift.

If you do your research on kits to see what out there & what fits in the budget you should be good. Yea some of the kits like Rough Country I would stay away from.

6" short arm kits ride really rough, too steep of angles for the arms

Depending on your type & style of wheeling and how much daily driving you do, should determine your lift.

I have the 6" RC X lift with 35" Mickey Tompsons as you can see in my avatar. It isn't bad at all. It does a great job with flex, not too unstable and does not drift too bad. I am happy with my purchase for the money I spent. I wish I could have gone to a long arm but I am not complaining with what I have got. Been riding on it for the last two plus years.
