Rubber coating help

So the PO sprayed some rubber undercoating in the drivers floor plan and I would like to remove it to actually bedline te interior. Should I just scrape it out or is there a solvent that would work?

I guess it depends upon what the PO used for undercoating, and how long it's been there.

If it's scrapeable, remove as much as possible, and then use Acetone to clean up the residue. Should work.

Wear rubber gloves, and don't breathe too much of the fumes!

It looks like a rustoleum type product but kinda pliable. I'm hoping scraping n acetone will work. Will acetone hurt the paint?

Yes, acetone will eat the paint...heck, it can remove fingernail polish. I think your are going make a mess trying to remove it...plus watch out for all the chemical vapors. If the undercoating is durable, I would probably just spray bedliner over it.

I don't know if it "hurts" the paint, but it's what is typically recommended as a preparation/cleaner when using bedliner, whether liquid or spray-type.
