rubi wheels

Alright i've decided to put 31's on my jeep and while i was looking on craigslist just for fun i found rubi wheels with the goodyear mt/r's on them with over half the tread left. He was asking 500 and i emailed him....turns out a wheelin buddy of mine from high school posted the add and he lives right up the road from me which i found pretty funny...but anyway i made him an offer of 450 and he was cool with it.

Now to put 31's on my stock SE steel wheels it would probably cost me around 750 and now i can get better looking 16" moab's with 31's on them already for 300 less.

Now even though the tires have a little wear do you think this is a good deal? Im pretty sold on them but just want some opinions...

Good deal. $500 might get you just the wheels without rubber on ebay

Yea its a good deal, but remember, with Moabs, your gonna need to run spacers to run wider wheels if you go bigger than 31s.

Edit: also, dont expect those MT/Rs to last too long. I take good care of mine, watch the pressure etc. and I am lucky if I get 20,000 miles out of a set using them as a DD.

Thanks JCS, good to know. I'm pretty convinced i'm getting a good deal, especially since i was planning on putting 31's on anyway, so i'm probably gonna go pick them up sometime this week.

Good find, both the wheels/tires and linking up with an old buddy again. I think those Rubi wheels look great for stock wheels, and when you're ready to go bigger, you can probably sell just the rims alone for more than you paid for rims/rubber.

Just went and picked up the rubi wheels tonight! They're in great shape, no cuts or scratches or anything, and MT/R's have much more than half the tread left. Picked them up for 450 so i think i got a pretty good deal...can't wait to put em on my jeep and get those wimpy steel wheels and 27's off there
