Rubicon Details

Hello. New to having a Rubicon. I have a 2004, previously had an 07 X, and before that two Liberty's(GOD I HATE THOSE)...

I've done some research on these Rubicon's, just wondering if anyone can tell me the specialties of a Rubicon of this year vs. a regular X, Sahara, etc. What does my Ruby have that makes it a Ruby, if that makes sense?!

the biggest differences are the Dana 44 axles front and rear with selectable lockers and 4.11 gears. and a 4:1 low range on the transfer case.

You also have an electronic sway bar disconnect. I had that on my '05 Power Wagon. Very cool.

an 04 rubi wont have that only the new ones (07 and up)

it also has a little bit bigger tire stock, and nicer looking wheels, and heavier duty coils

HD coils? IMO they´re very stiff and uncomfortable.
they installed rubicon coils in my front because it sagged and the ride was very stiff after that.

btw. the rubicon was never available at the official jeep dealers here in europe.

News to me. I thought all the Rubicons came with the disco. Sorry 'bout that.

Nic - not sure about using it aftermarket on a Sahara or whatever.

Basically you have the best "out of the box" off road machine on the planet, and for that i envy you

With the pre 07 rubicons you're going to get 16" wheels, 31 inch mt/r's, front and rear d44's with selectable air lockers, rocker guards, and a 4:1 low range transfer case.

They are basically like an Anti-Rock with normal sway bar ends. Somewhere in the middle a sleeve slides off the splines so that it disengages.

http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=367045

I've seen this done on some XJ's as well.
