rubicon express 3.5 lift

Morning Jeepers....probably making an offer on a rubi lj later....maybe starting another build... wondering if this lift handles ok on the highway.....seems to be reasonably priced. I read through the lift review thread only seemed to be a couple mentions from a while ago Thank you

I have it on my 99 Sahara. The shocks are terribly stiff. No complaints about the lower control arms, trackbar, or coils. I plan to replace all the control arms this spring. There are better lifts for the money.

I used bilstein 5100 shocks for a 3" lift. It rides very well.

I've got the 4.5 version with 3.5" springs... handles great! Drove it to Moab & back without issues (8hr drive one way).

I have the 3.5 Super-flex with mono tube shocks. Make sure it has the SYE and CV drive shaft upgrade, if not, It will be something you will want to add as well as the aftermarket upper rear control arms to get proper pinion angle.
BTW, I like my lift and it handles quite well as my daily driver on street and Hwy. The RE rubber control arm bushings on the older lifts are crap. I am upgrading the currently cracking material with Daystar kit this weekend. Other than that I am pleased with it. Good luck finding your Jeep.

If your going for a 3.5 lift front the money for the super-flex off the bat. I went with the standard 3.5 and shimmies started that lead to a few DWs. Adjustable lower control arms are the key aspect to ensure your caster angle doesnt become to negative(away from stock). As Richd1963 make sure the sye and CV are in mind since you may have vibs. Also fbeiii was right forsure, bilstein 5100's are outstanding! They just arent that much more expensive esp. when you drop to the sales rep your a WF member; theyll usually eat shipping. Goodluck

Thanks to everyone. As it turns out, dealer called me yesterday and addressed the issues. She now sits in the backyard. Got a decent deal and now let the building begin. Whoo hoo! Blind side: I am definitely considering the bilsteins. Thanks for keeping the thread alive. What timing! Pics coming soon.

I've got the 3.5 standard lift on mine. It's my daily commuter (70mi / day) and it handles fine on the highway. I got the lift from Jason LaLiberty at 4x4groupbuy.com. Got a great deal on Old Man Emu shocks with the lift. Something like $130 for the four of them. I would definitely recommend an adjustable trackbar. my front axle sits off center by about an inch, with the passenger side tire sicking out past the flair, and the driver's side sitting flush with it.
