Rubicon Lift and Tires

Can I hear from anybody currently Running 35" Tires on 3-1/2" of lift with a 4.oL, 4.10 Gears, and the 5 speed Manual. Is it a nightmare or not bad as a mostly daily driver and occasional offroader. Just trying to make the right choice without waisting money.Thanks.

It will be tought to clear 35's with only 3-1/2" lift.

I have a Rubi w/ 4.10's and a 6spd. running 35's without too much issue.
On the pavement it's OK but offroad I find it's a little faster than I like in 1st and 2nd gear 4HI.
I'll change to 4.88's at some point.

Actually.... if you run Hiline fenders from MetalCloak ( or the like ) 35's clear just fine with 3.5" lift....4.88's would be the optimal gearing for your 4.0 5 speed.....

I figured it was pretty safe to assume that he didn't have hi-lines etc...

Obviously, with enough mods 35's can be run without any lift but that's not what he asked.

The 4.10 gearing for me is just OK. Not great, not horrible.
It bugs me just enough though that a change will be made but I'm not rushed. The 4-1 TC in the Rubi makes it work offroad well enough for now.

Im running 35's with 4.10 gears in dana 44 axles 4.0 5 speed. Its not a bad set up only real down side is its a little slugish in the higher gears but i do plan on a regear in the future either 4.56 or 4.88..

I run 35's on 3.5 suspension, with 1.5 body for extra wheel well clearance. They'll fit with just 3.5, but don't have too much room to flex.

The 4.10 gears and 5spd are fine around town, but definitely struggle on the highway. On even a slight incline, you have to choose between AC and 5th gear; you don't get both... The 4:1 transfer case brings the low range crawl down to a nice speed.

What about the same setup,Rubicon 35s. 410. but with an automatic trans, the. What would be the best gear for an auto

As others have said 35's and 4:10's is not ideal, but it works. I live in Denver and head up I-70 into the mountains to go wheeling. Its like 12 miles of 6% grade uphill on and off and I can stay at 65-70 mph, about 3,700 rpm's, if I'm in 3rd gear. There are spots that level out and a few slight declines along that 12 miles I'm able to up shift so I don't have to worry about overheating.

I'm going to replace my 4" springs with 3" springs and a highline kit and run 37's and re-gear to probably 5:13's. I'll do that once my 35's are morn and need replacement.
