Rugged Ridge Header Fit Issues

I went to put in some new Rugged Ridge t-409 SS headers on my 97 TJ and couldn't get my intake manifold back on. It seemed like the metal around one of the pipes was too big to let the intake manifold slide past.

I needed wheels so I ended up pulling them back out and putting my cracked exhaust manifold back on for the time being.

Has anyone else had this problem??

Any way to take a picture of the areas you think are the issues?

Im strongly considering a rugged ridge 409 stainless header for my 06 TJ 4.0L...and now im curious if I'll run into similar fitting issues, aslo I'd love to hear what some people think about the header in question. I read on another thread that banks tends to crack for lack of a flex joint? how does the RR hold up? and if you've installed it, hows the performance gain? Im not terribly obsessed over sound, I just want my motor as efficient as I can make it, and since I have it breathing better on the intake side (ported throttle body, and K&N intake) I figure I should do something about the exhaust side now. any thoughts and advice are appreciated.

LOVE MY JEEP!

Headers help performance when they replace an exhaust manifold. But the TJ 4.0L comes with a factory header already so you're not going to see that normal bump in performance an aftermarket header can cause.
