Rugged Ridge or AA Sye?

I've been looking to get a sye kit for a while and I know advanced adapters is seen as the best, but cse offroad currently has the rugged ridge sye on sale for $192.94 with free shipping. So basically I want to know if it is any good or should I just shell out the extra $50-60 for an advanced adapters one?

on ebay you can get an AA SYE and a custom CV shaft with 7" of travel instead of 3" you get in others for $410. just search SYE on ebay you'll find it, they are out of SLC.

Stupid question: if the shaft was already made per specs you didn't supply, is it really a "custom" shaft?

As for OP: RR super short or JB super short would be my choices. Buy your shaft locally, they're not expensive and while very well made, there's nothing magical about Mr. Woods driveshafts.

^ of course you send them the specs then they build to your specifications after purchase, it's not a premade.

Installed the AA SYE and TW shaft from Rusty's 4x4 this summer. VERY happy with both.

Didn't think $480 for the combo was a bad deal.

I will say I didn't think my jeep was bad till I had the SYE on and saw how much better life could be. Glad I made the upgrade. Can't speak to the other options.

LOL Also got that xfer case drop out of the chain.

Any "one size fits all" shaft would make me think twice, too many CA and axle variables to say "here, this will fit no matter what you have"

I asked a guy at a 4x4 shop that i trust. He said that you can put them side by side and they are exactly the same. As for drive shafts, he only recommended 2 brands...rubicon express and tom woods custom.
I run rugged ridge and tom woods, they both work very well. Pita to install the sye though...have fun with that.

I am running the AA SYE with the TW drive-shaft. AA sells it all as a kit for like $500 and you can order everything online. Great quality buy IMHO.
