Rugged Ridge Tubular Doors Review

A month ago I installed these on my TJ so I though I would share my experience.
I looked at quite a few different brands before choosing RR. I like their design for the price point the best.
After shopping around I ordered them from Baseline 4X4. They are a forum vendor and also had the best price I could find, $268 shipped.
My doors arrived within a week and were packaged very well.

The instructions were straight forward. They install just like my half doors and come with a limit strap. The only assembly is mounting the rubber stop so the door doesn't rattle. This required one hole be drilled in each door and the stop is secured with a screw. The stop is adjustable so you can set the latch tension.

The latch is a paddle on the outside and pull lever inside. It is lockable and came with four keys. It functions very well.
The doors come drilled and tapped to mount factory style mirrors with supplied screws.
The finish is a course wrinkle that looks very good with my TJ.

I'm very happy with these doors. They look great, open and close easy, and are rattle free. Well worth the money.

I've been wanting some of those and just couldn't decide which brand to get. Thanks for the write up. I think I'll order some too.

Looks really good and compliments your Tj well! I like the black of the tube door swooping down into the red and back up. Nice and clean

Thanks for the compliments!
One thing I should mention, the doors are a little to far away to be comfortably used as an arm rest while driving, at least for me. I got used to it in no time and you have no arm rest doorless anyway. My wife wanted something to make her feel more secure while still having the openness. These did the trick.

EXACTLY why I was looking at these. I've owned motorcycles in the past and love the freedom of nothing around you. In fact, after a week of finally having the TJ topless, I had to put it back on for a road trip this weekend with a very wet forecast. Wife and kids like the Jeep, but not top down in the rain like I do. I'm an idiot like that I guess. Anyway, wife said I could go doorless, but when shes in the Jeep, hers goes back on, lmao. Can you imagine? So I told her about and showed her these and she approved. Thanks for the review! I hit my spending limit for the Jeep this month, so it'll wait til next month. I'll post pics once I get them. Again, thanks!

They look like the top rail would be roughly in the same place as the half doors I had on my last jeep. Is that not the case?

Height wise yes, however the tube door does not recess in the opening as far as the factory door. Also being 2" or so tubing it is not as thick. I will post a pic after work.

Those are sweet. I really like the look when topless or safari style. I may have to pick up a set and use them in the fall here in the desert. It's so hot now, I drive with the full doors on, windows up, but side and rear window out. Actually keeps it reasonable on those 105+ days.

Only idea is that a thief can't just lift the doors off and walk away.

It's the thought that counts

Just thought I'd add, I ordered these yesterday from baseline 4x4 with the lowest price I could find and free shipping, and UPS tracking says they are on the truck, out for delivery to my house by the end of today!

That makes me a satisfied customer!
