Rugged ridge vs. trektop nx framless soft top

I've been wanting to get one of these frameless soft tops for a while now. I love the look I them

What's everyone's opinions about them?

Which do you prefer the rugged ridge or the bestop one and why?

I've actually been wanting one of these also.

Rugged Ridge: doesn't come with factory door surrounds or header. If you already have these, then this is a non-issue. I believe that the windows can be stored in the top, which is nice. I thought that I heard that the rear window doesn't roll up?

Bestop: doesn't require you to already have the factory items. Windows don't store in top, but the back window does roll up.

I don't have the factory door surrounds or header, so I'll most likely go with the Bestop.

I got the made in china one but other than that no problems, your right; the back window does not roll up and if it did it would hang in the way of view (the slant) so I like the option of storage in the bag on top. The best thing to me is, it is very quiet, if all the windows are up and top on my wife will now ride in it. Just my 0.02

I've only done the research on the Trek Top.. since it came with my jeep when I bought it.. if you buy the trektop.. EVERYTHING comes with it... from the tailgate bar and brackets to the door surronds... since they're specially made for the the top.. well okey they have a pin at the top to lock it in and allows you to have a "sun roof" lol I dont know much about the rugged ridge one... I can tell you the fabric from the trek top is heavy duty along with the zippers and what not... Ill take pictures when I get mine on in a couple weeks!

The biggest advantage of my trektop nx is that it lowers the roof about 4". That means I cans still park in the garage! Also, from what I've read, they tend to have a tighter fit than other tops, mine is pretty quiet.

Basically everyone prefers the Trektop one over the rugged ridge.

I noticed also that the Trektop is a couple hundreds bucks more than the rugged ridge but it come with everything

Probably a dumb question but what is the one made in china?

i just got the rugged ridge XHD bowless, and it seems alright so far. it was a pain in the ass to install, but i guess it's where it was a cool day, and it's new. it was just insanely tight. the only thing that worries me is there is a gap between the windshield, and the windshield header that i put in. you could almost lay a pencil it in. i'll try to add a pic later. i haven't noticed any leaks, but it just bothers me, lol. other than that, it's much quieter than the factory soft top, and i love the tinted windows. and i loved saving 200 dollars. personally i would never use the sunroof thing on the bestop.

I don't think I would use the sunrise either. Is that gap something that the manufacture did or just a fault with your header bar?

Like I there a huge difference from the Trektop and rugged ridge? Other that sunrider and able to roll the windows up?

Is the material about the same quality

I'm in the same boat right now.

Having a tough time making this decision for when I get a new soft top.

honestly, i don't think the gap is a fault, it seems like it's just supposed to be that way. i'm not sure though. but i haven't noticed any leaks, so i dunno. and i haven't had any experience with the bestop trektop, so i dunno about the comparison. i'll keep an eye out for any other info about the gap, and i'll post it in here if i come across anything.

That's what I thought too, but I find myself throwing it back pretty often. Especially since I've put a shade to block a little of the direct NM sun.

I've got them on the 2 rear openings and the rear. They allow for plenty of air with just the right amount of shade.

So much easier than dropping the top, and its about double the size of the factory style. I love the feature.

When the Trektop flips back, it just exposes the front two seats, correct? I have been looking at getting one of these tops for the last couple of weeks.

Jeep Wrangler TJ Soft Tops | 1997-2006 Wrangler TJ Top | Softopper

Made in US, storage for windows in the rear of the top, easy to remove/install, all parts can be replaced. You can order it as a complete (as in all hardware included), or use your factory window surrounds. Lower price if you use your surrounds, tailgate bar and header are still provided.

I use my sunrider feature daily. When it starts getting cool/cold, you can ride sealed up in the cold mornings, but flip the front back in the afternoon when it's warmer. It's perfect!
