Rust Spot...Fixable?

I am thinking of buying a 97 TJ but there is a rust spot on the back. Was wondering if this is bad beyond repair or if its fixable and also is it something that would make this jeep something to shy away from and try to find another one?

The picture is really unfocused but I would say it's very fixable. Brush on rust preventer for now so it doesn't spread.

I have the exact same rust spot but on the other side. I've already got it down to metal and just has to be primed. It was really easy. What are the jeep's specs and price then ill let you know if its worth it

Things you must check: 1. Floor, make sure its not rusted through 2. Transfer case , make sure the driveshafts are tightly in there 3. Signs of too much offroading

Def. fixable. Even if it's happen to have gone all the way through the boxed body mount is right behind that panel. I had a major rust spot there, small amount ate through but just filled over it because the body mount is right there.

Or if worse comes to worse cut it out and cover over it with body armor.

only if you live in the projects. if its through, you cut it out and use it for a template to make a same sized replacement panel. butt weld it in, glaze it, prime and blend.
that is an easy fix.
