would using spray on bed liner on rims throw off the balance of the tire? i used plasti dip as a test to see if i liked black rims and i want to make it more permanent.
I bought several cans of Rustoleum to do my rims. I tested it out on my door handle first. I sanded the old chipped paint and cleaned it really well before shooting with the bedliner.
It looks bad. I went light with several coats but the Rustoleum kept running. So I thought maybe I did something wrong & decided to re-test on my interior tailgate where I chipped out the Raptor liner I did 2 years ago. Quarter size area chipped to the metal.
Same thing. It's like black water that I'm spraying. It runs like hell. Once it dries, it looks great where it's not showing runs, though.
No way in hell I am going to spray this on my rims if it's going to run like this.
Ideas on what I may be doing wrong? Yes, I shook it well (10 minutes) and the cans were at about 70-75 degrees when I sprayed.

I've noticed that occasionally the "grit" has a tendency to clog the spray nozzle. I normally just clean it off with a rag and spray the can upside down for a few second and good as new. If you see that it's only "water-like" and don't see any grit it may be a good idea to do the same and see what happens. I've had great luck out if this stuff on everything I've sprayed. Good luck!
