This is listed as a Limited edition Sahara (#839 of 1,000 made)
Anyone know anything about this jeep? I've not seen this badging before

That does not look like an official Sahara badge....I'd have to research it too, to be sure, but...looks poser.....Nice Jeep but...not an official Sahara....might not even be a Rubi!

I didn't think It was an official badge either but the tire cover on the back is a factory tire cover with the exact same badging on it.

Not a normal sahara sticker. There was no Sahara Rubicon that I know of... If its a Rubicon it will have a Dana 44 front axle. If its a sahara, it will have a dana 30

I believe those are a special edition that came out with the movie Sahara. I've seen a few on this forum, you might try searching for rubihara.

Not a Sahara, Sahara...
Sahara Edition Unlimited Rubicon: 2005, Paramount released the movie Sahara which featured a Jeep Wrangler. As a way to build on the success of the movie, Jeep released a limited production “Sahara Edition” Unlimited Rubicon.[14] Only 1000 were produced and each one is numbered. All of them are visually identical, but some were offered in a manual and others an automatic. They are all Light Khaki Unlimiteds. Trim differences over the standard Rubicon include chrome grille, color matched flares, khaki hard top or soft top, as well as optional dual khaki tops, Graphite Moab wheels, a Sahara spare tire cover, upgraded two-tone premium seats, Sahara decals, taillight guards, and a numbered dash badge.

It would be nice to have, but it would almost be a shame to modify and wheel something that rare. Idk bro.

The way I see it, better to be used like its meant to be and built into something awesome than be left stock by someone and not be appreciated for what is it.

This is real and legit! There should be a badge inside on dash that states "x of 1000". Should be able to deal a bit, but price is ball park. You want this example!

If i were buying! Sell the hardtop for $1000, If soft top is included. Then modify with 4" lift and 35 tire w/ new wheels. That machine would look badass and rare @ that same time.

Thats a great price for a Saharicon. One in my area with 60k on the odo running about 24k. This one was #800 of 1000. I agree, buy and wheel it!

So info on them here: 2005 Rubicon Sahara Edition

I found one of those before when i was looking.

The dealership it was at wanted way too much, with the fact it was a rollover and had a couple of accidents.

I was a bit confused with it seeing as it was the first one that i have ever seen.

Why peep's pay more for a couple stickers and some upholstery is beyond me! "WoW! This is X out of 1000!! I'd be glad to finance $300 more per month for ThaT!"....dumb....now, if they put a bigger/better engine/trans combo or upgraded rears or bigger brakes...that is another thing altogether....but pay extra: for cosmetics? Noooo way....

Its not cosmetic at all. The price that is listed for is what a LJ Rubicon goes for with current market price. Now add on top of that, that this is a LJ Rubi SAHARA and you have a limited edition jeep where only 1000 were made. What more can you ask for? You can pay the same price and get any Rubi LJ or get a limited production Jeep for the same price. Hardtop can also easily go for 1.5k+ for LJs.

It's cool but I never heard of that movie. I'd rather buy a non movie related jeep and mod it with the extra money. I'm with OP about knowing more about it was cool. I thought it was a joke when I seen title and never clicked it. Very cool but for that money you can buy a truckload of cool parts.

Around my area an lj rubicon with that low mileage would be going for $23-$25k, so special edition or not it looks like a good deal to me.

If its a "Rubicon", it will have front and rear locking differentials. I believe the only option with a "Sahara" is a rear locker. Unless its top secret, I've never heard of a Rubicon Sahara??? Its either one or the other. Saharas normally have vehicle matching colored fender flares. Either way, I love the Jeep. Just buy it. You'll love it. Lol

cool find

I didn't know mine was a Rubicon Sahara when I bought it... the dealership didn't know either. Someone had put an old style Sahara sticker on the side.

After running the VIN, reviewing the window sticker, and some sharp eyes on the forums pointing out what I had..... I found out I had #0090 of #1000.

I still mod'd it and wheel it... that's what a Jeep is for

The day I bought it with the wrong fender decals.

-
-
my window sticker ... luckily still in the glove box when I bought it.

-
-
and now (with the correct decals back on it)
